How to Play Worldle

Worldle is a daily geography game where you guess a mystery country from its outline alone. You get six guesses, and there are no letters — just the shape and, after each guess, a set of directional clues.

Reading the distance and direction

Every wrong guess tells you three things: how many kilometres your country is from the answer, an arrow pointing toward it, and a proximity percentage. A green square (🟩) is worth about 20% closeness and a yellow one (🟨) about 10%, so five greens means you're basically on top of it.

Using the clues to close in

Treat the arrow like a compass. Guess a country, read the direction, then play another country on that side. Two or three guesses usually bracket the answer, and the shrinking distance tells you when you're nearly there.

Best Worldle Strategy

Because Worldle scores distance, strong openers are large, central countries whose direction arrow rules out a whole hemisphere in one guess.

Open from the centre

Try a country near the middle of a landmass — Kazakhstan, DR Congo, or Brazil — and read the arrow. One guess tells you which continent you're heading to. From there, step toward the arrow and let the distance shrink.

Learn the tell-tale shapes

Outlines are the real skill. Chile is a thin ribbon; Italy is a boot; Norway is a jagged coastline. Once you know a dozen signature shapes, many days are solved on the silhouette alone before you even use a guess.

Tips to Solve Worldle Faster

  • Name the shape first. Long and thin, blocky, island cluster? The silhouette often narrows it to a region instantly.
  • Follow the arrow, not your gut. Direction turns one wrong guess into a whole eliminated hemisphere.
  • Use the proximity percent. A jump from 40% to 80% means your last move was right — keep going that way.
  • Mind size and scale. Worldle normalises the outline, so a tiny island and a huge country can look similar — check the hints.
  • Take a hint before your last guess. One region clue beats a wild stab.

Common Worldle Mistakes to Avoid

  • Ignoring the outline's orientation. Worldle doesn't rotate the shape — north is up, so read the coastline accordingly.
  • Forgetting islands and territories. Answers include overseas territories like Mayotte or the Faroe Islands; don't only think of big sovereign states.
  • Confusing it with Wordle. Worldle is the country-outline game; if you're looking for the five-letter word, that's Wordle.
  • Guessing only giant countries. They map the board but rarely win — zoom in with neighbours once the arrow points home.

Worldle Answer FAQ

What is today's Worldle answer?
Today's Worldle country for Sunday, September 13, 2026 is in Caribbean · Americas and starts with P. Take a hint first, or open the "Reveal the country" box above.
Is Worldle the same as Wordle?
No. Worldle (with an L) is a geography game where you guess a country from its outline; Wordle is the word game where you guess a five-letter word. This page is for the country game.
Is the Worldle answer the same for everyone?
Yes — every player worldwide gets the same country each day. It resets at midnight in your own local time zone, so your "today" depends on where you are.
How is the distance in Worldle calculated?
After each guess, Worldle shows how many kilometres your guessed country is from the answer, plus an arrow pointing toward it and a proximity percentage. Chase the arrow and the rising percentage to close in.
Does Worldle have a puzzle number?
No. Worldle is identified by date rather than a puzzle number, which is why this page is dated.
Can I see past Worldle answers?
Yes. Every past Worldle country stays in our archive with its outline and country file — handy because the official game locks its archive behind a paid tier.
